Lies, #@%*$# Lies, and Opinion Polls: Part II (by Bogosity)

About the Author:  Northeast Pennsylvania born and raised. Family guy, with a few hobbies. (Golf, Guitar, Reef Tanks and always looking for a good glass of Scotch). I've had Zero involvement with politics, but I've never missed a chance to vote or talk smack. I became some what of a political junkie during the great Republican revolution of 1994. The Contract with America was the greatest thing I've ever experienced, well...that and being born. Prior to coming here I spent a lot of time on political newsgroups and forums. Mostly driven by my amusement of the vile hatred for George W Bush. I live for the debate and I'm hoping to find some here.... Because in my world, politics is a full contact sport ! ~NEPA Read more from this author

    NEPA,

Once again, you sound extremely foolish and ill-considered to me. I’m still waiting to see if Jay will back-up what he said by publically accepting my $500 wager for Mccain - if he believes the polls are incorrect then he will substantiate his belief here, in public. He seemed mature and honorable enough to be worthy of such an arrangement, however, you come across as a screaming, scared fanboy with no substance and little in the way of dignity.

If you believed what you’re saying here you’d be spending every last penny on buying Mccain at intrade for 13.8! It’s that simple, put your money where your mouth is - Obama was at just over 20 in January when I bought (I could sell today for 86 - but, like James Brown said, I’m a greedy man; I want the full amount); you would stand to make a lot of of money if you truly believed your own words. Don’t tell us about how wrong you believe the polls are, put $5k down on intrade and you stand to profit around $42.5k in 2 weeks! Where else can you get an opportunity like that? One of us will of lost a substantial amount of money, and the other will of substantially profited - it will make this a more exciting race and prove that you mean what you say.

You believe in capitalism, don’t you?
You believe the polls are wrong?

Why not follow the logical inference of your beliefs instead of this barrage of unbridled hysteria?! Let us see the dollar value of your words, lets turn this scenario in to the “full-contact sport” you believe politics to be!

  • Do we really need a $500 dollar wager to prove that the polls were very wrong the last 3 elections ? I think you can ask Google about that one. I’m not really sure what a wager proves in this case. Jay has been vigilant in pointing out how the polls are flawed and will continue to be flawed. Perhaps the people who conduct these polls would be interested in changing their formulas and looking to improve accuracy. Instead they sit back and ssay folks lie to them. I personally believe they aren’t interested in doing this because of bias.

Did you watch these video’s ?

I’m not familiar with this intrade thing you keep bringing up…you got a link ?

If you have $500 dollars to waist maybe you want to make a donation to the troops.

Never thought about betting on politics before…then again….nothing is a sure bet once again, did you see this ?

Another good example is Hannity’s man on the street Thursdays. It scares me to think that these people might actually vote.

I don’t scream, but I do get defensive when I come across somebody who refuses to take their partisan hat off. As always that you for your feedback and compliments.
