The Obama campaign has waged war on free speech in Missouri by getting sympathetic law enforcement officials to go after ads they deem to be inaccurate. The step is a willful disregard of the distinction between political and commercial speech.

Governor Matt Blunt of Missouri has rightfully blasted the Obama attack on free speech in the strongest terms, saying ““What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.

“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.

“Barack Obama needs to grow up. Leftist blogs and others in the press constantly say false things about me and my family. Usually, we ignore false and scurrilous accusations because the purveyors have no credibility. When necessary, we refute them. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.”

America owes Governor Blunt a debt of gratitude for defending the American constitution and the fee speech of Americans residing in his state.

How pathetic is Barack Obama? In the video accompanying this post, Pastor Manning, a famous Obama opponent trashes Obama’s parents who are both deceased. He has shown no emotion, no anger and no sadness when their honour is besmirched. I keep up regularly with Pastor Manning, who is a well informed Obama opponent. I can not support his statements about Obama’s family. To the best of my knowledge, Barack Obama has failed to speak up for his deceased mother and father. He displays zeal and alacrity in going after those who highlight his political friendships and alliances in Chicago, yet silent in defense of his family honour.

I am asking Pastor Manning to please stop calling Obama’s parents names. If you have dirt on Barack himself, just bring it on. That’s politics. I know that Obama is probably too busy to request this of you. He wants to bring hope and change to America. So he’s more worried about Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko. They could hurt his shot at the White House. I guess he’ll defend his parent’s honour after the election.

I can’t help but wonder how strongly Obama will defend America if he can’t even stick up for his own parents. I am speaking up for them as a matter of decency. They can’t help it if their son is a wuss and a twit.
