This morning’s release of a questionable poll by pro-Obama ABC News and Washington Post was touted proof that Obama had jumped out to a 9-point lead. While there is no question that Obama has a small lead now, other polls released today confirm that the ABC News-Washington Post product is suspect.

Following the “a cause greater than self” routine unfurled in all its glory for the hurricane during the RNC, Maverick John has now suspended his campaign and the presidential debate to work on the financial crisis legislation. Initial word from the Obama camp can be summed up nicely with “you gotta be kidding me”.

U.S. Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign today launched the Coalition to Protect Coal Jobs. The coalition, a nationwide group including members of Congress, state government and other influential leaders, will spread the message about the importance of clean coal technology and the advantages of tapping the country’s vast coal reserves. The group will also speak out to protect critical coal jobs when they come under attack from the most anti-American energy ticket in history.

In what is invaryingly being described in the media as some shade of scary, the North Pole ice nearly reached a record low this year. The problem is that most climate “scientists” were predicting much worse, including many who claimed that this was it for Santa and his little people who make theWii’s and other toys (even though that operation moved to China long ago); they said the North Pole could even become ice free.
