Fighting The Good Fight
From a McCain Democrat’s Journal, September 9, 2008.
With the nomination of Gov. Sarah Palin to be the Republican candidate for Vice-president, the battle-lines of the 2008 election have at last been clearly drawn. Arrayed on one side are the forces of Democratic Socialism - - liberal Democrats, like-minded Independents and Republicans, and the cacophonous left wing of American politics. On the other side are the Traditionalists, whether they be Republican, Independent, or Democrat. This is a culture-war election.
The Democratic-Socialist side has the advantage of a poor performance in recent years by the Republicans, who fell prey to the temptations of big-government programs and big-government solutions and such sins as using earmarks to help win re-election. But the performance of the Republicans over the last eight years, while in many ways deserving of criticism, is not anywhere close to the picture of disaster the Democratic-Socialists have been painting. In fact, I can say with confidence that the only party whose record during this century has been worse than that of the Republicans is the Democrats.
What the Democratic-Socialists offer in this election boils down to this: In order to solve the problems of big government, to correct the errors of big-government programs, and to mitigate the sins of earmarking and other vote-buying schemes, what we need is bigger government, with more big-government programs and greater reliance on the sins of earmarking and buying votes with tax moneys.
No, thank you.
This brings me to the subject of the pro-Obama press and its abject misunderstanding of why the selection of Sarah Palin has led it to inane, rabid-dog attacks on Palin. The mass media by and large still understand politics in terms of Liberal and Conservative - - old-style Republicanism, old-time Democratic Party ways. The mainstream press insists on thinking of Barack Obama as just another public-spirited liberal and John McCain as an unusual example of old-guard Republicanism. By and large, the MSM doesn’t see either man for who he really is and what he really represents.
So they sure as Hell don’t understand Sarah Palin.
The arrogant minions of an arrogant candidate, the likes of the NY Times, completely dismissed Sarah Palin as a possible VP pick. The narcissistic allies of a narcissistic candidate, they took Palin’s nomination as an insult to them! After all, Palin hadn’t presented herself to them for vetting, as all good candidates must, right?
Sarah Palin represents The Good Fight. Campaigning for her is fighting the good fight, fighting for the traditions of America, fighting to hold off the meretricious sameness of European-style socialist government.
There is no way to change the perceptions of the MSM, or to alter their pro-Obama coverage. While we can take pleasure in having witnessed a near-meltdown at MSNBC, we can’t count that happening to other Obama-booster media outlets. The media coverage of this election will continue to be the most biased since the 1948 Truman-Dewey contest.
What we can do is fight the good fight by taking the message to our families, our
co-workers, the friends we have now and the friends we haven’t yet met. If every traditionalist who supports the McCain-Palin ticket can bring just one more person into the fold between now and election day, then we will win this thing with room to spare. Where I live, Virginia, the vote may be close; I’m working on bringing in one or two solid votes a week. We can’t buy them wholesale with promises of “free” health care and “free” tax “rebates.” So resolve now, “I will get at least one vote this week, two or more if possible, but at least one, this week, next week, and every week until the polls close on November 4.”
Lock and load, folks.

I’d heard a rumor that Palin is going to be impeached because of the “troopergate” contorversy.
The FIX IS IN as the chief investigator states (before any facts are discovered and before any depositions) that it will be an “October surprise” and that it will be very damaging to the govenor.
The investigators are Obama supporters
GAME OVER…..
Tim: You lead a rich fantasy life. If, as you fantasize, “The investigators are Obama supporters,” then the public would perceive it for what it is - - a politically-motivated hatchet job.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for those impeachment papers.
On second thought, go ahead - - hold your breath.
