Oprah Winfrey will not interview Sarah Palin on her show prior to the November election. According to her statement:

There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates.

Let’s get this straight, Oprah Winfrey introduced little known Barack Obama to millions of her viewers. For the first time ever she endorsed a political candidate and then barred any other candidates from appearing on her show.

Oprah’s viewers are women. Without those women Oprah would be a nobody and her endorsement of Barack Obama wouldn’t mean squat. Her viewers are asking her to interview Sarah Palin. She refuses. She is telling the women that made her wealthy beyond anyone’s wildest dreams that she doesn’t care what they want.

Wow, that’s gratitude.

Oprah is just afraid of little competition. I think if Palin/McCain doesn’t win, Sarah will have a competing talk show.

WhoooPee Goldberg throws Palin off the train to !

http://www.wowowow.com/post/whoopi-goldberg-sarah-palin-republican-national-convention-96289?page=0%2C0

Listen, I think there is one common theme here and I’m not saying this to be racist, it’s going to be hard to find a Black Woman celebrity who supports Sarah Palin. But this is OK, this is a free country and I can’t truly say that O or Whoop are wrong for not supporting the woman.

I’m also going to say that there will be some backlash (hopefully). The free market will ultimately win out in the end and I’m sure O will loose some viewers because of this, but then again…

Why do we care what Oprahhh thinks anyway ?

If you think about it the 2 have nothing in common. Politically they are on completely opposite sides of the political spectrum.

Their only bond is being female. So none of this surprises me.

Besides, I’d rather see her make an appearance on The View.

Nepa, Funny you should mention it, I have that same report up in another window. As far as Oprah, I’m not a fan and I don’t watch so I don’t care what she does. Her fans (the ones who theoretically pay her salary) want to see her interview Sarah Palin. If she doesn’t deliver, they should vote with their remote.

I stopped watching or supporting Oprah as soon as she supported the nitwit. I’ll never watch her show again, although, I know she doesn’t care at all. But, at least I have integrity, unlike her and the inexperienced, immature clown she is supporting.

I’ve never watched Oprah. For me she holds no relevance … I consider her show lightweight entertainment. But I know millions of women hang on her every word. That fact that she has endorsed Obama is clear indication of her desire to influence the vote. It’s sad that anyone would vote for candidate just because Oprah endorsed him, but I’m sure many will. I think it’s unethical for someone with so much influence to make political endorsements knowing people will vote for the candidate she favors for no reason other than her endorsement … this is an ethical violation of one-person one vote.

My two cents …

NEPAConservative suggests that Oprahbama might be jealous? And that IF McCain-Palin don’t win, the governor will have her own talk show?

First, Oprahbama is scared that Barack Obama, or whatever his real name is, will not be elected–and, thus, she cannot do anything that might seem to jeopardize that.

Maybe, too, she’s gotten so burned by her speaking out for Barry that she’s afraid to do anything else political?

No, I’m not covering for her. But, hey, who knows?

Second, given that it doesn’t matter what she does, Obama will lose.

And that means that Vice President Palin, who will then become President Palin in either 2012 or 2016, won’t be competing against Oprahbama.

She made her money literally on the backs of working women who bought, read, and lived for her every word. She is a shrewd business woman that left TUCC and Rev Wright long ago. She is now along for the Obama ride. Lest we not forget her Obama diamond studded sunglasses that she had to take with her to the convention.
A woman who is the first Republican VP nominee is history whether you agree with her ideology or not.
Oprah is just another hypocrite PERIOD.

I stopped paying attention to Oprah when I heard all the stuff about some new age cult that she runs. Actually, I think I really stopped paying attention to Oprah when she invited the teen-age mutant ninja turtles on her show. I was only a little boy, but it still gives me the shivers. Ehh… Freaky

Oprah should be thrown off of the air. She is constantly promoting Obama on her show. She has to give equal time to other candidates.

I can’t wait for John McCain to win. Egg will be on her face.

I think the fact that she would have Tom Cruise on her show and not Sarah Palin speaks volumes about what this woman is really about.

The O rebutttllee:

“The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue,” Winfrey said in a statement sent to news organizations in reaction to the DrudgeReport.com posting. “There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”

Notice she says “after the campaign is over” she would love to have Palin as a guest. What a phoney !

I have never watched a full episode of an Oprah Winfrey show, nor could I understand why someone as obnoxious, presumptuous, and boring as she is would be paid such an obscene amount of money. I have never understood the attraction. When Oprah Winfrey decided to publicly back Barack Obama she forfeited any objectivity she might have ever had. She will never again have the opportunity to interview (if that is what she does) anyone in the political arena who is not a Democrat. She has lost all credibility, she has no believability, she left it back at Invesco Field along with her false eyelashes. Sometime ago, while in line at the grocery store I realized that Oprah Winfrey is the only “cover girl” in her O magazine. Such conceit fits her egomaniacal personality. Nothing she will ever say or do will convince me that her backing of Barack Obama was not racially motivated. From her well publicized celebration of black women’s accomplishments, to using her influence to back Obama, Oprah Winfrey has flipped the finger at any non black who helped her meteoric rise. Were a non black entertainer to behave as she has the shouts of racism would be thunderous. Sarah Palin doesn’t need the likes of Oprah Winfrey. Governor Palin’s accomplishments are worthwhile and real.

Most of the people resonding to Oprah running her own show and not have the lying, hypocritcal Sarah Palin on her show “consider her show lightweight entertainment.” So, if that is true why all the gnashing of the teeth. There are shows — in fact a whole network that would not know the truth if it walked up and slapped them in the face — out there that would be more conducive to what you are seeking - a free pass for the VP nom who went to 6 schools in 5 years .

Tom, you don’t seem to get it. Personally, I could not care less if Sarah Palin goes on the Oprah show. I simply pointed out that Oprah’s viewers asked for it, Oprah shot them down due to her own political agenda. Without her viewers she is nothing.

And the witch hunt continues…

TOM, it was 5 schools in 6 years. And Tom, anyone can be president…see Harry S Truman’s credentials. Arguably the best.

Nobody says you need to be a slimy life long politician / lawyer to be president. Like Barry.

And IF you want to chat experience…Barack has missed over 400 votes in the last 2 sessions. This also means that he’s probably missed a lot of those committee meetings that he claims as experience. I still don’t hold that against him.

You need to be American born and over 35. So that means Sarah IS qualified. PERIOD.

Lonely, stop it, you love Operah :)

I hope that women across this country boycot Oprah’s show and magazine. The left for too long has screamed that all news media outlets need to be fair and balanced. But, what they really mean is just outlets that are perceived to be right leaning. Until Oprah becomes fair and balanced, BOYCOTT OPRAH!!!
