Oprah Winfrey’s dilemma is also the dilemma of the Democratic Party; they are petrified of Sarah Palin.

Oprah Winfrey introduced Barack Obama to America’s women on February 3, 2008 in Pauley Pavilion at UCLA in Los Angeles.  When she took the stage, she stalked the audience “like a lioness” with her passion for Obama’s candidacy.  She is credited with having referred to Obama as “The One”.  From that reference, the mainstream media and all the other pods began their attempt to brainwash the American public with the delusion that he was a messiah.

What happened next could not have been foreseen by Oprah and her staff at Harpo Studios.  Her legions of faithful viewers flooded her website with questions about why she had thrust herself into the political landscape and why she was supporting Barack Obama rather than Hillary Clinton.

It is easy to understand the question, after all, Winfrey is such a women’s advocate and it wouldn’t have been such a leap of faith for her to support Clinton, but she didn’t.  Her support wasn’t subtle and it wasn’t nuanced.  It was out-and-out blatant.  Her show’s ratings took an unsettling nosedive.  It hasn’t recovered since.

Reports are surfacing that she and her staff are deeply divided over whether to book Sarah Palin, the Republican Party’s nominee for vice president.

According to a developing story, “Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on,” an insider explains. “Oprah’s website is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama.”

An executive close to Winfrey is warning that a ban on Palin would create a groundswell of hostility toward the show.  Sheri Salata, Oprah’s executive producer and contributor of thousands of dollars to the Obama campaign, refused to comment on the controversy.

Oprah Winfrey has never married her longtime boyfriend Stedman Graham.  The National Enquirer learned in January of this year that he will not receive even one penny from her $2 billion fortune according to her will.

Winfrey has no children but she has a best friend, Gayle King and several dogs.  She plans to adopt three children, and even then Stedman will not be involved in the process. Hmmm.  Those are some great family values.

Sarah Palin stands in stark contrast to Ms. Winfrey.  Mother of five, wife, and rival of her beloved Barack.  It’s easy to see why she doesn’t want to book “Sarah Barracuda” on her show.  Heaven knows if she couldn’t control Tom Cruise acting like a fool and jumping on the sofa of her set in front of millions that she would never be able to handle the sassy spitfire known as Sarah Palin.

The Democrats are panicky; much more so than Oprah.

Here is what some are saying about Oprah’s blog.

Oprah’s message board does not allow anti-Obama posters so she surely would not allow Sarah on her show because she may say something that is anti-Obama - ya think?
Because there were so many anti-Obama posters on her site, they did a redo of her message board which did not allow for political discussion.
Here is what one poster said:
How strange for Oprah to endorse a candidate for the Presidency, and then to shut-down
and censor any discussion of politics on a board once known for its political discussions.
Another wrote this open letter to Oprah on her message board.
    Oprah,
More than 4,000 threads and posts of mine have apparently been deleted from this site
during the recent “cleansing” that took place.
I have been a part of this message board for the better part of a year and I have never been
banned - not once - because I have always remained within the posting guidelines of this
website. So, why the removal of all of the threads and posts I have ever written?
I am so concerned that our media is becoming one not unlike that of communist and
dictator-controlled countries in the world whereby the media is controlled by political
figures and the government and I fear those who are in leadership in the media industry
are not only allowing it, but abiding by it. I am surprised that what has taken place here
    has taken place.
Has this become another Barack Obama ONLY website where people cannot give their
true opinions about a political candidate that has been publicly endorsed by the website’s
owner? The Daily Kos is known for its selective banning of posters who question
anything at all about Barack Obama. It is very unfair, in my opinion, and it is the
squelching of the voices of many. Is that what is happening here? I have always thought
Oprah GAVE a voice to the voiceless.
I just heard Barack Obama speaking today about the current “New Yorker” cover
featuring he and his wife in satirical theme. He said he believed in the First Amendment
rights of those who create and publish such material. But, I question whether or not this is
just Mr. Obama’s public statement while his private statement is his encouragement of his
friends in media to control the written expression and opinion of people wishing to post
and requiring that they make ONLY positive statements about Mr. Obama without
questioning anything he says or does.
Is this the same Oprah Winfrey who has always seemingly supported freedom of speech
and expression? Is this the same Oprah Winfrey who has had many people from all
different walks of life on her show to discuss their honest feelings about race and other
social issues - to open a dialogue and to educate? Is this the Oprah who earned the respect
of so many of her fans and viewers because of her fairness and her willingness to listen to
all sides of an issue - even if she disagreed?
I am disillusioned, surprised, and offended.
    Another poster said:
Even though the vast majority of people who posted in the political area were FOR
keeping the board, Oprah Winfrey apparently couldn’t stand the heat, just the way her
    candidate can’t stand criticism.
So, the board was censored out in favor of salad recipes and such compelling notions as
    dog diapers.

Oprah having a guest that is a Republican soccer mom, a hunter and a lifetime member of the NRA? MMMMMM probably not.

  • mary says:

    Could she be a racist?

  • Paul Zannucci says:

Oprah is looking at Obama much in the same way I imagine I would look at Jesus if he walked into the room and started talking.

Mary, I don’t know. I guess she could be. This is really a powerful moment, though, for the black community.

  • Terry Ramsey says:

Obama’s sponsor Oprah’s cleansing of her site of political discussion and refusal to give audience to the biggest new face to the political stage says it all. She has played her hand and the viewers don’t like the card they see. No honesty and sincerety here anymore, just hardcore bias.

China, ex USSR, Cuba, etc., are the models for the far left’s censorship methods. Oprah has fallen into that same mode either by design or by ignorance (or fear).

This is a glimpse into the future if the Dems get in and institute their “fairness doctrine”, shutting down all opposition television, radio, and print media.

    Karl is alive and well!!

Her hero will be best buds with North Korea’s Kim, we should be scared to death.
