The Republicans have put their convention on hold, preparing to put themselves instead in the service of relief efforts in the wake of hurricane Gustav.
The Democrats are continuing their campaign full speed ahead, stopping only to do damage control in the wake of tasteless remarks about the hurricane being good for the Democrats.
Barack Obama indignantly [...]

First of all, babies are not tragedies or punishments, so I would like to congratulate Bristol on her blessing. All the media harassment and scrutiny will be worth it the first time you look into your baby’s eyes, if it’s not already worth it every time you place your hands upon your belly or feel [...]

Obama folks, please get a grip.
It may take a while for reasonable comments to show up, as all comments are now being moderated thanks to the hate emanating from the Obama camp.
These comments are not going to show up, so stop bothering to try.
We are not allowing negative comments on the Bristol situation. I know [...]

Today’s Rasmussen Tracking poll reports a three-point margin for Barack Obama, the same as yesterday and the same as the day before the Democratic convention began. A new stand-alone poll from CNN has the race at Obama-Biden 49, McCain-Palin 48, a one-point difference. The pre-Democratic National Convention poll taken by CNN had the race tied. [...]

Do hurricanes have left-wing liberal leanings? Apparently, Democrats think they do. Both Michael Moore and former DNC chairman Don Fowler laughingly said that God was on Democrats’ side with Hurricane Gustav bearing down on Louisiana just in time for the Republican Convention. However, the 1600 dead and $44 billion in damages caused by Katrina doesn’t seem like something to laugh about.
Speaking of Katrina, the Democrats spoke again and again during their convention of how Bush’s and Republicans’ failures of leadership caused the disaster. But a review of the facts shows that it was the Democrats themselves who were far and away most to blame. The people of Louisiana - who elected Republicans in droves - certainly agree. And now the peoples’ wisdom will pay off, as Republican leaders such as Gov. Bobby Jindal take wise steps to repeat the massive failures of local- and state-government.

Would this stuff about Sarah Palin being unfit as a parent be bandied about if she were male - and a Democrat? My guess is a big, fat NO. I can GUARANTEE YOU that the liberals wouldn’t be dripping with outrage about any of it. In fact, my God, I can just imagine if the tables were reversed, and Sarah Palin were Barack Obama’s pick, and Republicans were coming at her with these “issues.” The gates of hell would be opened, and feminists would pour forth from the pit with fire streaming out of their eye sockets.

A recurring note in Obama speeches is “The audacity of hope” and an end to “politics as usual.” Even before his time in the Senate, Barack Obama had a long record in Chicago local politics. Obama proved himself adept at using the system to eliminate political opponents. In Chicago,
