At a time when at least an outward show of bipartisanship would be helpful, the lamebrained Speaker of the House insisted on blaming the Wall Street financial meltdown on George Bush and the Republican Party.

If what Amir Taheri writes in today’s New York Post is correct, that Barack Obama negotiated with the Iraqi’s to slow troop withdrawal until after November’s election, then formal charges need to be brought against Obama for violating the Logan Act.

As the world turns, so does the “story” as it’s being told in Missouri regarding the Obama campaign’s mafia-style attempt to enlist the law enforcement community in Missouri to help counter “misleading” ads. As winterrider pointed out in a story earlier today, the original reporter is now stating that it was all blown out of proportion, that law enforcement and prosecutors will only inform the people running the ads that they are incorrect. He also points out that McCain has his own “Truth Squad” of sorts and that this is not all that unusual.

At a time when financial markets are in a precarious state, the particulars of a solution should be of overriding imprtance. This is why Nancy Pelosi’s partisan blast at the Republicans right before a vote on a bailout bill is truly bewildering.

We have literally been deluged with claims that it was the Republicans who prevented effective regulations that would have prevented the Housing Finance tsunami.

Over the past several days, the airwaves have been flooded with statements by Democrats and by the media “intelligentsia” that the financial crisis was created due to the atmosphere of deregulation that dominated during the last 8 years of the Bush administration and Republican rule.

A firestorm of disapproval is raining from the blogosphere in the aftermath of reports of a “truth squad” composed of city prosecutors. John Mills of KMOV TV clarified the “truth squads” as follows in an article on the KMOV website.
