Suddenly the party of diversity thinks a woman is a cheap political ploy
Scared, confused and hurt is the only way to describe the hardcore Democrats and mainstream media today.
Suddenly the party of diversity thinks a woman is a cheap political ploy. Given that most of the people I love are women, I don’t believe I could be more insulted even if I were the other gender. And it doesn’t stop there. The nonsense (aka BS) is at an all-time high.
First we have the talking heads at all the networks staring blankly at the screen and wondering aloud who Sarah Palin is. You would think McCain had announced Tickle Me Elmo as his running mate. I realize it is hard to follow politics when your head is completely encompassed within Barack Obama’s ass, but there are many, MANY of us who have been campaigning for McCain to select Palin for months and months. She is only an unknown to people who don’t know anything.
Then we have John Roberts at CNN questioning whether a woman with children, specifically a down syndrome child, can actually devote her time to being Vice President. I don’t recall anyone asking whether Obama will have time since he has daughters. Remember women, if you have children you should stay home, give up your careers and be a housewife. Seriously, if the child needs that much care doesn’t Palin have a husband? Are we so locked into our blind sexism that we don’t think the husband of a successful wife can put his life on hold for awhile to support her behind the scenes as so many women have done throughout history? I guess Roberts is picturing the washing machine at the White House overflowing with bubbles because Mr. Palin put too much washing powder in.
Then we have the liberal talking points of the day. McCain’s pick was irresponsible (because she’s a woman and might have to be President) and a political ploy (because she’s a woman).
On the first one, it is not overtly stated that the irresponsibility is related to Palin being female, but that is the only way to read it. Palin has better, more relevant experience than their Presidential candidate. She is a known commodity in a crisis thanks to her many years of fighting corruption while serving as mayor, governor and on ethics panels. Obama is nothing. He has no experience in governance at all. And he has shown an appalling lack of judgement and knowledge regarding foreign policy. I’m not going to list them all again. These shortcomings are well known and well documented by now. Placing Obama, a nitwit neophyte, as the Democratic nominee for President was irresponsible. Selecting Palin as Vice President is inspired.
And, I’m sorry, but just when in the hell did the @!$@#% Democrats decide that appealing to “special interest” groups was a ploy? Hint: yesterday.
First of all, women are above and beyond being a special interest group. They have a voice that has been silenced for thousands of years–literally. They constitute over half the population, and after finally winning a Presidential primary (Hillary Clinton), they were tossed to the curb in favor of another man, an empty suit who then picked another man as his running mate. Now when McCain picks a well qualified woman as his running mate, liberals and the MSM can do nothing better than to throw salt in the wound by questioning her ability to lead, wondering whether she’ll cry, thinking she should concentrate on raising her children, etc.
What an embarrassing day to be a liberal. Fortunately, they are going to get what they deserve come November.
I’m sorry. Was all that clear or was I too nuanced?

editor’s note: Hey, dipshit. Spreading rumors about Palin’s daughter is not happening here.
Paul, I used no intentional moveon points on purpose; I actually have stayed away from that organization for this election (I’m not impressed with their tactics). As far as Snowe, check her bio at http://snowe.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=AboutSenatorSnowe.Biography You can find KBH’s resume here: http://www.senate.gov/~hutchison/bio.html. Both of these women have FAR more experience with US policies & international relations. With regards to Palin’s resume, I simply looked at several websites — including the City (to use the term loosely) of Wasilla’s website, the State of Alaska’s website, the US Census statistics, her own statements, and came to my own conclusions. You can read more at cryoverspilledmilk.wordpress.com. BTW, most of Russia’s power is far to the west of Vladivostok — the closest major Russian city to AK, so that’s not really an issue.
The point is not that there aren’t other Republican women with experience, but that Palin matches the type of tough, intelligent Republican that McCain likes. They will work well together.
And never, ever forget that Palin has more governing experience than Obama.
Aimiesuzyj, China could use a little environmentalism, they’re turning their nation into a giant desert.
The fact is that her VP nomination IS a cheap political ploy. It’s a brilliant strategic move on the part of the Republican Party. They believe there is a group of voters who will vote for any woman regardless of party or policy, and this is the group they are trying to exploit. It would be horrifyingly wrong as a feminist or supporter of equal rights for women to vote for a female vice presidential candidate who was chosen specifically to get women to vote for her!
I do agree that women are not a special interest group and that anybody who questions her ability to serve in public office because she has children is going to come off as an idiot and show their own shameless partisan hypocrisy.
Re: what I posted above, Oops. forgot to close the link. Should say “strategic move” as link then the rest of the comment.
Alex, viewing her as a cheap political ploy is sexism every time you say it no matter how it’s phrased.
The woman is qualified and has similar “corruption fighting” qualities to McCain. Plain and simple, you are engaging in sexism. Your entire article is shameful, including the bikini clad woman holding the gun.
Just sad.
Do you know the words to “Closing Time”? Go home.
I fixed the link to your enlightening article.
Was calling me names necessary?
Editor’s note: Based on the memory of your post, I’m pretty sure it was.
Editor’s note: spreading the rumors you were spreading is about as low as it gets. congrats on your moral high ground.
Get real. Hunt moose with an AK-47. Hunt wolves from a helicopter, so she is a breeder what else can she do? Tina Fay is going to have a great time with this character. McCain thinks she looks good, he could not take his eyes off her ass at the introduction. VP–does that mean the Cheney man runs the operation again. Republicans are in a fear of the unknown stage and it laughable to think the old crip and the moose hunter are going to lead us.
Governing what? Moose, Elk and the drunk. Good politician?
Thank you for proving my point, Alex. The intended meaning of my comment is that China’s economy is not stable enough to promote environmentalism. Instead of clean air, they have chosen food and shelter. I’m sorry you missed it.
It’s more cynical, and more telling than that: Palin is there to appease the wacky religious right wing. McCain has zero chance to win, Rove figures, unless they get the religious right to come out in droves. Even then, it’s a long shot.
So they tried to cement that vote with a candidate who unquestionably accepts all the misogynistic and misanthropic views of the right, especially James Dobson. That they could find a woman to fit that bill allows them to twist the knife in women who supported Hillary Clinton, but Rove knows that most of those supporters will awaken before election day and understand that a vote for McCain is a vote against Hillary (Secretary of State? Supreme Court? No chance with McCain).
Of course, those who claim not to think Palin’s nomination is a cheap political ploy love to make that an issue, since she’s so far out on most other issues that Americans wouldn’t stand her in a square-up discussion of issues.
Dear Ed Darrell, as a country that has been electing conservative Presidents for the last 24 years (even the Clintons were conservative Democrats), your argument is completely laughable.
Nearlynormalized, I’ve got the video of announcement up on the site. Show me where McCain was looking at her bum. That’s just another ridiculous, sexist remark.
Liberal moonbats, up until Friday, you guys were all in favor of pandering to every special interest group in America. There is absolutely no reason not to try to court women by giving them a voice.
aimiesuzyj, I think it’s not so much an economic instability issue as an economic disparity issue.
btw, thanks for fixing the link. I’m glad you liked the article.
McCain Pandered to us Hillary Supporters? Thank god someone want’s our votes. All I hear from Obama supporters is “You don’t get it. We don’t need you.” And so McCain comes along and sporting signs “Country First” and picking Palen. And she echoing many of Hillary’s themes of working hard for us and being a fighter. Her giving the nod to Hillary for the glass ceiling cracks. Was that pander? Sure it was. And so what? You’re point is? At least someone out there acts like they want our votes that they actually listened to what we are upset about. Obama supporters seem to think we are bitter women who can’t get over losing, or else they think we are racist. And ultimately the obama bots think we will fall in line because all we care about is abortion and therefore wont stomach Palen. Plain fact is after all I’ve seen from the Obama campaign and learned about Obama himself, I can NEVER vote for Obama. And I can no longer call myself a Democrat unless there is a major shake up in this party and this lot is chucked out. This recent stint of sexism against Palen is the nail in the coffin. I feel dirty for having once prided myself as a fellow Democrat. Do I agree with Palen and McCain with all of their ideas for the Country? No I don’t but I have confidence in handing them the Country for safe keeping rather than giving it to Obama and his criminal sexist thugs unable to see their vague agenda of hope and change and knowing what they’re capable of after this horrid campaign. The are strengthened by adoring worshipers and complicit media. Take that and add a democratic congress and senate to enable Obama and there is no limit to the damage they can do to this country.
This is what we mean by “Country First”. A vote for McCain is a vote for the protection of the country, and that comes before all else.
The Republicans didn’t poison my mind against Obama. Obama and his zombie hoards did that all by themselves.
Well, said, Juliezzz.
Does anyone care what Palin and Biden have to say anyway ?
