Hey, Barry - - I Wouldn’t Call That Woman “Sweetie,” If I Were You

Friday, August 29th, 2008

By its vicious, visceral reaction to Sarah Palin, the Obama campaign erased any lingering doubts about whether it used sexist attitudes to defeat Hillary Clinton.  The attacks on Palin - - like those on Clinton - - are designed to create the impression that this person cannot be trusted with this responsibility.  Clearly, however, the [...]

Telling my little girl about Palin…

Friday, August 29th, 2008

My little tomboy (sensitive, but still a tomboy) came charging into the world.  She walked early.  She talked early.  As with most little ones, she felt she was the fastest, the strongest, the jumpiest, the danciest creature to grace the earth.  From the age of two she had plans.  Big plans.  And Daddy was always [...]

Guest Author: Runup to the RNC - Brilliant Choice for VP

Friday, August 29th, 2008

by Rickster at The Conservative Guy
John McCain ran a classy ad on the last day of the DNC congratulating Barack Obama on a job well done, referring to his acceptance of his party’s nomination. McCain was referring also to the 45th anniversary of the Martin Luther King “I have a Dream” speech. McCain was gracious [...]

Sexism Permeates Democratic Websites

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Breaking news: Democratic talking points: being an involved mother and a member of PTA is an indicator of systemic stupidity and means you have a questionable background.

Perhaps the enlightened party needs to look a little more carefully at itself.  Today’s news that Sarah Palin will be the Vice Presidential candidate for the Republicans has brought a [...]

Sarah Palin Puts Her Money Where Her Mouth Is On Abortion

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Character is revealed in crisis, and Governor Sarah Palin had a crisis that challenged her basic values when she learned that the child she was carrying - her fifth - would have Down Syndrome.
What would this pro-life wife and mother do?
For Sarah Palin, there really was no question: she would love her child.
Women who argue [...]

I’ll Take Sarah Palin At 3AM Over Barack Obama Any Day

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Who would be better at taking that 3AM phone call? Apparently, Sarah Palin has Obama beat.

Getting To Know Sarah Palin

Friday, August 29th, 2008

For those that have been detached from current events this morning, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has been chosen to be John McCain’s running mate. I personally am very excited about this. I thought the possibility of her being McCain’s VP choice was a long shot, but I’ve been rooting for her. Let’s take a moment [...]

McCain’s Vice President, Sarah Palin: My Comments

Friday, August 29th, 2008

John McCain’s pick for vice president has thrown the Democratic Party into a disoriented spin mode the morning after Obama’s underwhelming speech at the Temple of Obamis in the mountains of Colorado. Joe Biden, a poster child for tactless remarks and appeasement now stands opposite an unabashed religious conservative. As governor, Sarah Palin of Alaska [...]

Inexperienced Obama Makes Experience The Issue

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Politico has the Obama campaign reaction to John McCain’s VP pick, Gov. Sarah Palin:
Obama spokesman Bill Burton: Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain’s commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big [...]

My Choice: Governor Sarah Palin

Friday, August 29th, 2008

My Friends,
I am honored to announce that I have chosen Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as my choice for the Republican nominee for Vice President. As a father with three daughters, I can’t express how proud I am to choose the first female Republican Vice-Presidential nominee.
Sarah Palin is a trailblazer and a reformer. As the [...]

Our Next Vice President: It’s Sarah! Governor Sarah Palin!

Friday, August 29th, 2008

John McCain just won the Presidencey with his choice of running mate.
Oh, like the U.S Olympic basketball team (and so appropriately, both sexes!), the team has to play until its official, but from this moment on, McCain will increase, and Obama will fade.
Obama had all the hype about making a thrilling announcement by text message.  [...]

Elitist Democrats Slam Palin and small town America

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Official statement from the Obama campaign:
“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain’s commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush’s failed economic policies — that’s not the [...]

Incredible selection. McCain picks Palin.

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Stepping outside the box and reaching for the disaffected Clinton vote, McCain is set to pick Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.  Well spoken and tough as nails, Palin is the young, female maverick version of McCain.  She would be considered somewhat liberal on some issues, but not those that are most dear [...]

Democrat-Controlled Congress Back To 9% Approval Rating

Friday, August 29th, 2008

The Democrat-controlled Congress is back to a 9% approval rating. However, the constant harping on President Bush, which allows for the constant refusal to place Democrats on the hook, continues to have an impact on the electorate: Dems continue to enjoy a solid lead in generic polls. In tonight’s speech, Barack Obama said that “John McCain voted with George Bush 90% of the time.” I wonder how often Obama voted with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Do Our Pets Make Us Republicans?

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Came across this touching little story.
Polls show that if the election were up to pet owners - (and especially dog owners) - McCain wins.
Do our pets’ constant faithfulness and steadfast devotion turn their owners into Republicans?

Interesting Election Tidbits From Rasmussen Polls

Friday, August 29th, 2008

This is just a collection of Rasmussen’s findings on the Presidential race, on the attitudes of Democratic women for the Obama-Biden ticket, on Democrats’ and Republicans’ registration efforts, on which Presidential candidate is more trusted in National Security, and on the electoral college race, as of August 28:
