McCain Takes the Lead in Reuters/Zogby Poll
Reversing Obama’s 7 point advantage from July, McCain now leads by 5 points in the latest Reuters/Zogby poll. The poll was taken before McCain’s strong performance at the Saddleback Civil Forum.
According to the article, “Obama’s support among Democrats fell 9 percentage points this month to 74 percent, while McCain has the backing of 81 percent of Republicans. Support for Obama, an Illinois senator, fell 12 percentage points among liberals, with 10 percent of liberals still undecided compared to 9 percent of conservatives.”

McCain Leads Real Clear Politics Electoral College Count

These are the kind of polls I have been waiting for….but….Zogby polls don’t count for much in my book no matter who they favor….I think the question is ‘will the media cover these polls?’ We will see, they seem to be covering for Obama very well. CNN, NBC and CBS are all pushing Obama talking points and not covering his lies.
I had ever expectation that McCain would take the lead following the last week of Russia’s proving that we need a strong leader. The debate should continue to help McCain and hurt Obama also.
The trend has been looking bad for Obama for over a month now. His unpopularity rating has gone up from the mid twenties to nearly 40%, and his “approval” rating has dropped from nearly 60% to 48%.
The wheels are going to fall off the Obama campaign, and we need to stay faithful to keep pulling screws off the axles.
I wrote a post on my site months ago noting just how similar Obama’s campaign and voter base were to the McGovern campaign - which lost in the biggest landslide in American history.
The Democrats picked a turkey. More and more people (even Dems) are coming to see that.
