Rumors that Obama is interested in Virginia’s Governor, Tim Kaine, for the second spot on the Democratic Party ticket comes as exciting news to all Virginians, and most especially to the Virginia GOP. Why?

Well, let’s look at the situation. Kaine has recently fallen below 50% in public approval for the job he is doing in Richmond. To say that his highway funding bill failed miserably would be charitable; he couldn’t find a single Senator to introduce his bill in the Virginia Senate. Effectively, the non-vote was zero (none) in favor, 98 against; meaning that every Republican and every Democrat in that assembly turned down Gov. Kaine. He got zilch. Zed. Nada. Ninguna cosa. Bupkus.

It seems that as far as Virginia Republicans are concerned, the Obama-Kaine combo would be quite helpful to a McCain-Anybody ticket. Kaine won’t scare off any Obama stalwarts, of course, but he might help the undecideds and independents to come to a decision. For McCain.

Sshhhh … we WANT the Dems to take Kaine, right? So don’t tell them about his weaknesses. Be very quiet. Hunker down. Don’t vote this up on RealClearPolitics, because we don’t want Dems reading this excellent article (tiptoes off).
