Comrade Sam Webb, national chair of the Communist Party USA gets a little dreamy when he thinks of the possibilities of an Obama and far left sweep in 2008 and encourages little comrades everywhere to not hold back, “In fact, sitting out the elections in my view gives up the battle before it is joined and fails to appreciate the incredible opportunities that this election offers to throw our country onto a progressive and peaceful trajectory. “
A quick visit to the Communist Party’s website shows that they have a policy of not officially endorsing one of the major candidates; after all, that would be a stake through Obama’s heart. Yet the leader of the party is clearly making an endorsement. It would be merely an argument over semantics to claim that he is not.
